Recently some photographer friends and I decided to start our blog circle. There aren’t any official rules or themes to it for the most part but I think for myself I am going to choose to make this into my own little 10 on 10 monthly post. 🙂 My goal is to post 10 images each month of the random goings-on of our own life. 😀
This month did sort of sneak up on me a bit so I’ll be honest and say I’m already cheating. 😉 I took a couple of photos from March but that’s okay. I love them and wanted to be sure to share. 🙂
Highlights of our recent life include:
playtime at the chalk table | a Spring concert with a 60s theme | a toothless grin | tablet time in a fort on a rainy day | a beautiful sunset on the evening of my Grandpa’s funeral | toddler goofiness | and the big 1-0 birthday for our oldest
If you like my daughter’s birthday cake, it’s from Sugarfuse, located in New Philadelphia Ohio. 🙂 It was just as yummy as it was pretty!!! 😉
Yes, I am “that” Aunt. Crazy Mimi and her camera. Yep. We were on our way home from a family cookout a couple of weeks ago and every time I pass this abandoned building (no joke, literally EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.), I kick myself for not having my camera or it being too dark, or rainy, or just not feeling like stopping with the kids for a quick 5 minute mini shoot. Not this time. This time I was prepared. Sure the kids aren’t in super cute clothes or all decked out. Yes they were tired. I was tired. But we did it. I pulled over on the way home, got the kids and my niece all out of the van, sent them into the long overgrown grass/weeds (yes I checked it first for dangers of any sort) and quickly snapped a few shots. It’s not super posey or perfect in any way. But I love what I got. It’s real. It’s them. It’s perfect. ❤
This is my Emma. Goodness I love her. She is the one that made me a Mom, taught me the real meaning of love w/o question, taught me patience (boy did she ever), and gave me reason for being here. I cannot believe it’s been 9 years already since we first held her. We love you Emma Elizabeth and we hope you enjoyed your birthday and skate birthday party too!!! And because I have so few photos of my kids WITH me in front of the camera instead of behind… And thennnnn, Emma raced me back to the van and wanted to lock me out. She thought she was pretty hilarious… notice that the lock is still up. 😉 Gosh I love her. PS – Please don’t mind the streaky windows, real life people. Real life. 😉
It’s time again for another monthly blog circle post!! This month’s theme was ‘joy’ and when it snowed a few weeks ago I was so excited because I knew exactly what I was going to be posting this time. What greater joy is there than being a child playing in the snow? Meet my daughter, Izzy Grace. She loves her snow!
After viewing my blog be sure to stop by the other girl’s participating in our blog circle. You can see Eileen with M.E. Photography’s post here.
